16" x 16" Original Topographic Watercolor Landscape Map, Custom Commission. Perhaps it's the site of the wedding, the proposal, a favorite vacation spot, or the homeland for your family or ancestors. With each block painted by hand, an original Watercolor Landscape Map is just stunning on the wall of your home or office, or a wonderful wedding, graduation or anniversary gift to be treasured. It's a meaningful way to remember a really special place where you find solitude or consider the grandeur of the Earth from its peaks. A topographic watercolor map is a combination of my hand-drawn topographic lines and watercolor. These lines may follow elevation contours or may be gestural hatch marks. I'll also use the watercolor in light and darker tones to mimic landscape shadows to highlight mountains and valleys. Or, as in the BLUE RIDGE (last photo before palette) piece, I may use watercolor to delineate the elevation contours. We will decide together!

I will contact you soon after your purchase of this commission. Please allow 4 - 8 weeks to complete Your Topographic Watercolor Map. This is the most complex type of map I create and it take a lot of time to procure a topographic map and to trace or hatch the contours. On this one, watercolor is often the "easy" part! The result has a lot of depth and is a fitting tribute to places that are known for their topography.

With this commission, you are also entitled to purchase up to ten prints of your piece at half cost! Give prints as gifts to friends and family. Keep a print for yourself if the original is a gift. Win-win.

Your Topographic Watercolor Map is created just for you. Please tell me the name of the city or area you'd like to represent - including specific neighborhood(s) or sites. Generally, a 2 - 10 mile radius from center is a reasonable size for this type of map. Also, is there a special spot around which the map should center? Tell me in the FORM provided at checkout. Once we determine the boundaries of the map with your approval, I will draw the water bodies, coastlines, roads and streets by hand. Using this drawing as an underlay, I will watercolor the blocks between roads and water on thick watercolor paper to create Your Original Map. Thank you for your patience. We will be in touch!
